TStv to run on 4.5G Network By November 1st

The new cabe television satellite company in Nigeria, Telecom Satellite TV (TSTV), has said it will offer viewers the experience of high definition (HD)  and Standard Definition (SD)  video, Internet services, Broadband, TV and Radio at very affordable rates.  


TStv services will be distributed on the ABS 3A Africa beam, located at 3 degrees west, beginning with 100 channels.

The company also said the service would run on 4.5G network, with subscribers getting 20G of data for N3,000 monthly, which could be used for video call conference with camera and Wi-Fi.

The Managing Director of TStv, Bright Echefu, who conducted journalists round TStv facilities at its head office in Jahi District, Abuja, announced November 1, 2017, as the commencement date of its commercial operation, whereby 5,000 decoders would be released free to members of the public.

Echefu, who said he got his inspiration while studying at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), said after a test run period of one month free subscription, one million decoders would be rolled out from the six million targeted in a year.

He said contrary to claim in some quarters, TStv would air CNN and beIN sports channel as part of a blend of local and international channels dishing out packages of entertainment, news, sports, kids and health channels.

He said the company had received over 6,000 applications from distributors which were being verified, and that 748 had been approved and registered already.

The TStv boss, who said he felt fortunate to be used by God, added that the pay TV business was a cartel, and he commended the DStv Company for, “doing very well, as it is not easy to pay for content.”
